KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed grief over the demise of former parliamentarian of the National Assembly, Gangalal Joshi.
Joshi, also former President of the NC Kanchanpur district, passed away at his hometown in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur district today from cardiac arrest. He was 85.
In a condolence message here today, Deuba said that the news of Joshi’s demise had shocked and saddened him. The former Prime Minister extended deep sympathy to the bereaved family on his behalf as well as his party.
“With the demise of Joshi, NC lost a dedicated leader. I wish eternal peace for the departed soul,” Deuba said in the message.
Joshi had played active and significant role in various democratic movements in the country and had contributed to the party.
He was also founder member of the Nepal Kisan Sangh’s, a sister organization of the NC.
