Kathmandu, Sept 9: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stressed on the need of developing the party as a political force acceptable to all.
Also the former Prime Minister, party chairman Prachanda said this while addressing the memorial assembly commemorating the 21st death anniversary of martyr Suresh Wagle ‘Basu’. The assembly was organized by the NCP central office at the party office on Monday.
Stating that the party leaders were becoming a bit more self-centred and individualistic of late, he directed the party cadres to be focused on making the party dedicated to the people’s service and acceptable to all.
“We have made the communist movement popular. We have got the popular mandate and have a majority government. However, we have degraded in terms of ideological and moral character. We tend to give importance to our self needs rather than the needs of the people,” the party chairman opined.
He stressed that the martyrs dreams would be fulfilled in the real sense of the wordif the party could be made dedicated to the people. “Comrade Basu was in the heist position in terms of ideology, sacrifice, intellectualism and morality. We should be able to learn from him,” he said.
Former Prime Minister and party senior leader Jhalanath Khanal said preparations are being made to conclude the party unity process at the earliest possible and the party would move forward with new resolution to fulfill the dreams of the martyrs.
Chief of the party’s publicity department and party spokesman Narayan Kaji Shrestha expressed the commitment that the party would carry out works addressing the needs of the people after the entire works related to the party unity are concluded.
