Kathmandu, June 8: Construction of the 400-KV Hetauda substation with the capacity to transmission of nearly 4,000 megawatt electricity has been completed.
It is constructed at Hetauda sub metropolis-11 for strengthening and expanding electricity transmission and distribution system. Based on Gas Insulated System, the third largest 400-KV Hetauda substation was brought into operation on Friday evening.
Similarly, construction of 220-KV and 132/11 KV substations were completed at Thanabharyang under the Nepal-India Electricity Transmission and Trade Project.
Dhalkebar is the first 400-KV substation based on GIS of the country while Inaruwa and Hetauda are second and third largest substations respectively. These three substations were constructed to make east-west power supply reliable.
Similarly, Dhalkebar-Inaruwa undertaking under the project is about to finish while Hetauda-Dhalkebar section is going on.
Executive Director at Nepal Electricity Authority, Kul Man Ghising, informed that Hetauda substation would ensure reliable and quality power supply in Hetauda, Bharatpur, Simara and Birgunj.
A 400-KV double circuit transmission line to be constructed at Ratmate of Nuwakot under the Millennium Challenge Corporation would be connected at Hetauda substation. Necessary infrastructures have already been put in place at Hetauda substation for the same, he shared. #nepal #electricity #rss
