Nepal beat Oman by 39 runs, Nepali team thrashed Oman on 78 runs

Nepal beat Oman by 39 runs in the opening match played at Al Amerat Stadium, Oman as part of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier A.

After losing toss, Nepal scored 117 runs with the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Nepali batsmen were found struggled to score the runs as well. Nepali batsmen Kushal Bhurtel 5, Aasif Sheikh † 4, Gyanendra Malla 15, Dipendra Singh Airee 11, Aarif Sheikh 38, Lokesh Bam 16, Sandeep Lamichhane (c) 16, Bibek Yadav 7 and Kamal Airee scored 1 runs.

With the target of 118 runs, Oman team collapsed in 78 runs in the scoreboard. From Oman’s side, Jatinder Singh scored 9, Kashyap Prajapati 0, Ayaan Khan 3, Khawar Ali 7, Zeeshan Maqsood (c) 2, Aamir Kaleem 9, Shoaib Khan 1, Naseem Khushi † 24, Kaleemullah 5, Bilal Khan 0 and Fayyaz Butt 6 (not out) runs.

Nepali bowlers Kamal Airee took 3 wickets, while Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 wickets each, Jitendra Mukhiya and Abinash Bohara also took one wicket each.

In group B, Nepal and Canada earned 2 points each.
