Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed the belief that Nepal-China cooperation on construction of trans-border railway, roadway and tunnel would bring Nepal and China together for socio-economic development of Nepal.
Giving a message of best wishes to the first meeting of the joint mechanism of political parties between Nepal and India in connection with Trans-Himalayan Multi Dimensional Connectivity Network, President Bhandari said the mechanism set up to continue regular dialogue among the political parties from two countries would further strengthen the two-country relations.
President’s written message was read out by Chairman of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, in the virtual meeting.
She stressed the need that infrastructure and technological development with adequate financial investment was necessary to realize the national campaign of ‘prosperous Nepal: happy Nepali’.
Nepal government is committed to forward cooperation with China under the Trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network which is the part of Belt and Road Initiatives, the President reiterated.
President Bhandari also extended best wishes to her Chinese counterpart, the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese people on the occasion of the 65th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China.
She further said Nepal was committed to One-China Policy, and would not let its territory to be misused against China.
According to her, both governments had prioritized the trade facilitation and people movement by opening additional border points between the two countries.
She also recalled her telephone talk with the Chinese President on the matter of fighting against COVID-19.
