Nepal cricket team defeats USA, first ODI victory in ICC World Cup League-II



Kathmandu: Nepal has registered its first victory in the ongoing ICC World Cup Cricket League-II by defeating the United States of America by 35 runs.

This is the second game that Nepal played in the triangular series. Prior to this, Oman defeated Nepal by 18 runs.

Winning toss, the USA first chose fielding in today’s game played in the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Nepal managed 190 runs in 49.2 overs by losing all wickets but the US lost all wickets in 44.1 overs totaling 155 runs.

In the game, Nepal’s batsman Subas Khakurel made just three runs while Team Captain Gyanendra Malla was sent to pavilion in 21 runs.

Likewise, Dipendra Singh Ari failed to make a single run and Paras Khadka contributed 19 runs to the team.  Similarly, all rounder Kushal Malla gathered 50 runs with three sixes and four fours. 

Nepal is taking on Oman in its third game on Sunday.
