Nepal defeated in match held under AFC U-20 Asian Qualifier



Kathmandu, Sept 25: Nepal lost to Uzbekistan in its match held on Wednesday under the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifier.

During the match held at New Taipei City of Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan won the match against Nepal by 6-0.

Uzbekistan scored goals in 24th, 27th and 29th minutes as well as 68th, 88th and 90th minutes. This is the second defeat of Nepal, which is in the ‘Group B’ in the Asian Qualifier.

In the first match, Nepal lost to Cambodia 1-4. Nepal had won the match against Chinese Taipei by 3-1 in the second match.

It is the second consecutive victory of Uzbekistan and it has collected six points while Nepal has only three points. Nepal is playing the group-phase final match against Bahrain on September 27.

Nepal, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Chinese Taipei and Cambodia belongs to Group B.

A total of 45 countries are participating in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be organised in 2025.

The winner of each group and five best runner-up teams would be selected for the U-20 Asian Cup.
