Kathmandu, Nov 23: Nepal finished as the first runner-up in the inaugural Blind Women’s T20 World Cup after losing to India in the final.
In the match held today in Colombo, Sri Lanka, India successfully chased Nepal’s 115-run target in just 12 overs. Put in to bat first, Nepal posted 114 runs in 20 overs for the loss of five wickets.
India reached the target with three wickets down. Phula Soren top-scored for India with 44 runs off 27 balls, while Nepal’s Sarita Ghimire contributed 35 runs off 38 balls.
The tournament uses a white plastic ball fitted with bearings, enabling batters to track its movement through sound.
Teams from Nepal, India, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the United States participated in the championship. As in other cricket formats, each team fields 11 players, of whom four must be completely blind. #nepal #cricket
