Nepal Police arrests two for illegal crypto mining



Kathmandu, June 14: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police have arrested two people on the charge of conducting illegal activities like crypto currency mining in the information technology lab in the building of TT under CTEVT.

According to CIB, the arrested persons include 40-year-old Biswas Gurung of Kirtipur Municipality-1 and 25-year-old Rajendra Tahamata of Bhaktapur Municipality-7.

During the initial technical research and analysis of the computer and server systems in the building of TT under CTEVT, it was found that crypto mining application was running on one server and 64 desktop computers.

Gurung and Tahamata have been arrested from Thimi in Bhaktapur and the investigation has started. #crypto #mining #CIB #NepalPolice
