Kathmandu, Oct 22: Interpol has been contacted to issue red corner notices for Jyoti Gurung and Jyoti Bhandari, who are involved in the embezzlement of funds from the Miteri Savings and Credit Cooperative. Jyoti Gurung was the spouse of Nepali Congress leader and former minister Dhan Raj Gurung.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) made this recommendation, and the National Central Bureau (NCB) has communicated with Interpol’s secretariat, according to Deputy Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki.
The police are investigating the embezzlement case related to the Miteri Savings and Credit Cooperative, located in Mahalaxmisthan, Lalitpur Metropolitan City-5. A complaint was filed by cooperative committee member Bodh Bikram Thapa with the CIB regarding the misappropriation of funds.
Reports indicate that arrest warrants have been issued against Jyoti Gurung, Jyoti Bhandari, Sujan Shakya, Hitman Thapa, and Prakash Yadav for allegedly embezzling a total of Rs 12.51 crore from the cooperative. #cooperative #scandal #Interpol
