Nepal won the title by defeating Gujarat by 18 runs



Kathmandu, April 7: Nepal has won the triangular Friendship Cup T-20 tournament title by defeating Gujarat of India by 18 runs in the final.

Chasing a target of 177 runs, Gujarat could score only 158 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Gujarat captain Umang Rohit Kumar scored the highest 40 runs. Arya Desai scored 36, Rudra Patel 17, Jaymit Patel and Harsh Desai scored 15 runs each.

Abhinash Bohora of Nepal took 3 wickets, Dipendra Singh Airee 2 and Karan KC and Kushal Malla took 1 wicket each.

Before that, Nepal, who won the toss and batted first in Vapi, Gujarat, added 176 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Captain Rohit Paudel contributed 74 runs off 47 balls for Nepal. Similarly, Kushal Malla remained unbeaten with 31 off 13 balls and Sandeep Jora with 7 runs off 3 balls. Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel contributed 19 runs and Aasif Sheikh 34 runs.

On the bowling side, Gujarat’s Jaymit Patel, Shin Patel, Tejas Patel and Yuvraj Singh took 1 wicket each. #nepal
