Nepali Army tops the medal tally with 15 gold



Pokhara : The Nepali Army so far tops the medal tally of the Ninth National Games under way in Gandaki Province.

The Nepali Army has clinched 36 medals including 15 gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze out of the 30 gold medals in different games being decided so far.

Similarly, the Bagmati Province is in the second position in the medals tally, winning 13 medals, including six gold, five silver and two bronze.

The Armed Police Force (APF) is in the third position, winning 19 medals, including four gold, six silver and nine bronze; the organizer Gandaki Province has won 10 medals including two gold, two silver and six bronze; the Nepal Police has won six medals so far, including two gold, one silver and three bronze; the Sudurpaschim Province has won four medals, including one gold and three bronze; the Lumbini Province has won four silver medals, NRNA one silver and Province no 1 five bronze medals.

Eleven teams, including the seven provinces, three departmental teams (Nepali Army, Nepal Police and APF) and NRN team, are participating in the 9th National Games.

The Karnali Province and Madhes Province have not won any medal so far. The 9th National Games was inaugurated amidst a grand ceremony at Pokhara Stadium on October 14.

The Games will conclude on October 20. Various competitions under the Games are being held in eight districts of the Gandaki Province.
