Nepali Congress Pokharel claim for Gandaki Chief Minister



KASKI: In Gandaki Province, Nepali Congress MP Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokhrel has submitted his demand to the State Chief Sita Kumari Poudel with the signatures of the majority MPs to form Gandaki Province government.

On Friday, he reached the state headquarters with 15 members of the Nepali Congress, 11 members of the CPN (Maoist Centre), two members of the Rastriya Janamorcha, two members of the Janata Samajbadi Party and independent MP Deepak Manange.

He said that they have come in person and requested to arrange for signature verification. “We have asked the Nepali Congress, the CPN (Maoist Centre), the Janata Samajbadi Party, the Rastriya Janamorcha and the independent MP Rajiv Gurung to identify those who were present in person,” Pokhrel told the State Chief.

State Chief Poudel said she would study the claim and make a decision after completing the process.

Responding to the media after submitting the claim to the Chief Minister, Nepali Congress MP Nepali urged the State Chief to take a quick decision.

“Today, we have 31 MPs, including four parties, in the presence of the State Chief,” he said. “Due to the pressure of the present time, we have requested for a quick decision. He said she would look into it and call tomorrow.”

The State Chief Minister and leader of CPN (UML) Prithvi Subba Gurung failed to prove vote of confidence in the State Assembly. He was already relieved from his post as Chief Minister.
