Nepali Congress should work hard to contest election independently: Leader Koirala

Kathmandu, Oct 26: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala believes that his party should begin efforts immediately to contest and win the upcoming election based on its own strength.

Leader Koirala expressed this at a programme held to exchange festival greetings at the party’s Kathmandu Metropolitan City ward no 32 today. He also stated that his party is capable of running in the election without forming any electoral alliances with other parties, especially in light of other parties’ announcing their intention to compete independently.

On a different note, Koirala emphasized that the current two-party government was established through a consensus between UML and the NC to maintain political stability in the country.

Likewise, NC central member Mohan Bahadur Basnet called for unity within the party, highlighting the importance of unity to avoid the risk of losing the election.

He suggested that the party should learn from past mistakes in running elections and proceed accordingly. #nepal #NepaliCongress
