Kathmandu, July 10: A Nepali cricket team is leaving today for Sri Lanka to participate in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023.
Minister for Youth and Sports Dig Bahadur Limbu and office bearers of the CAN offered their best wishes to the team amid a programme the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) organized here on Monday to bid farewell to the team.
The ACC Cup is scheduled to take place on July 13-23. Nepal is placed into Group ‘B’ along with Pakistan ‘A’, India ‘A’ and the United Arab Emirates.
Similarly, hosts Sri Lanka ‘A’, Bangladesh ‘A’, Afghanistan ‘A’ and Oman are in Group ‘B’. In its first match, Nepal is facing Pakistan ‘A’ on July 14, and it will play its second match against India ‘A’ on July 17.
In its third and final match under the group stage, it will take on the UAE on July 19.

Meanwhile, in-form player Aarif Sheikh has been dropped this time, it is learnt.
