Kathmandu, Dec 4: A dual language (Nepali and Hindi) film “Abhimanyu: Chapter 1” has been released in cinemas nationwide starting today. The makers chose to release the movie on Thursday, taking advantage of the Udhauli festival holiday.
Kameshwor Chaurasiya and Laxmi Bardewa play the lead roles in the film. “Abhimanyu: Chapter 1” has secured a satisfactory number of shows across most multiplexes.
Those who attended the film’s premiere on Monday had given positive reactions, praising the film’s quality. The makers are hopeful that audiences will spread positive word of mouth, similar to the feedback received during the premiere.
The film’s theme, technical aspect, presentation and performances have been praised by filmmakers and artists, increasing the cast’s confidence that audiences will appreciate the movie as well.
“We have already screened the film for some filmmakers, actors and journalists, and they praised it wholeheartedly,” said lead actor Kameshwor. “So, we are confident that the audience will also like it.”

The film is directed by Sushant Gautam, with Madan Thapa serving as the creative director. The story is written by Mukesh Khanal. Along with Kameshwor and Laxmi, the film features performances by Kiran Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, Laxmi Giri, Prakash Dahal, Shishir Bangdel, and others. Rekha Thapa also appears as a guest artist.
“Abhimanyu: Chapter 1” is produced by Binod Paudel and Gunjan Giri, with Ramesh Chaulagain and Hari Shrestha as co-producers. The executive producers include Bishal Lama, Hari Moktan, Krishna Bhattarai, Nirajan Luitel, and Sandesh Shrestha. Jeevan Shakya is the line producer.
Sharad Mahato is the DOP, Manoj Shrestha handled the VFX, Junim Gahtraj did the color grading, and Madan Ghimire is the editor.
