Kathmandu, March 26: A new Nepali film, Bigul, based on a social theme, has been officially announced. Actor Naren Khadka has been signed for the lead role.
The production team recently finalized a written agreement with Khadka, confirming his role as the main protagonist. The title Bigul symbolically represents a trumpet used to raise voices against injustice, reflecting the core theme of the movie.
Having acted in more than a dozen films, Khadka was last seen in Baarha Gaun. He made his debut as a lead actor in Hamesha but gained widespread recognition from Bulaki, a film that earned him several Best Actor awards at various film festivals.
Apart from Naren, the casting for other characters in Bigul is yet to be finalized. The production team is currently searching for a lead actress to star opposite him.
The film will be directed by Ramesh Koirala, known for his previous works Leela and Nirmaya. The screenplay is written by Maunata Shrestha, and Kalpana Poudel is onboard as the presenter.
Cinematographer Shiva Dhakal will handle the film’s visuals under the MGP Banner. According to the production team, filming will officially commence on the auspicious occasion of Baisakh 1, 2082 (Nepali New Year). #Bigul #nepalifilm
