KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 15.5 points on Tuesday and closed at 2,601.51. This is the highest closing in the history of NEPSE. The index had created a new all-time high just yesterday.
The index opened at 2,615.36 and went on to make an intraday high at 2,631.37. While the index went as low as 2,584.14, it ultimately closed at 2,601.51.
According to NEPSE, 17,732,765 shares traded hands via 76,493 transactions. The trading of 208 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 10.03 billion.
While the float index gained 1.68 points and closed at 179.04, the Sensitive index is at 473.53 after gaining 4.09 points.
Nabil Bank has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 52.99 crores. The shares of Nepal Bank traded the most.
A total of 6 companies have hit the positive circuit today. Meanwhile, Sadhana Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha lost the most 6.15%.
Four sectors gained while eight others closed red. While Banking gained the most 2.08%, Manu.& Pro. lost the most 1.87%.
