Kathmandu, April 8: The National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ Nepal) met with President Ramchandra Paudel at Sheetal Niwas today.
The team led by NFPJ chair Pradeep Raj Onta briefed President Poudel on various issues including the contribution of photojournalists, security challenges faced while working in the front lines while collecting photos and news.
On the occasion, President Poudel expressed the view that the state and the concerned media houses should assume responsibility to minimize the risks and ensure security of photojournalists who are deployed in the field.
He also lauded the role of photo journalists in spreading awareness in the society and making the news more credible and factual.
NFPJ Nepal Chair Onta requested President Paudel’s help in providing life insurance and other benefits to ensure the safety of photojournalists in the country.#nepal #rss
