Kathmandu, Dec 7: Five candidates have filed nominations for the position of President in the upcoming election of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ).
According to the Election Committee, the candidates for the top position are Nirmala Sharma, Ramesh Bista, Kamal Giri, Devi Prasad Sapkota, and Lal Singh (L.S.) Lama.
For the position of Senior Vice President, nominations have been submitted by Deepak Acharya, Damodar Prasad Dawadi, Govinda Prasad Chaulagain, and Roshan Puri. Mr Puri is the General Secretary of FNJ.
The nominees for Women Vice President are Nitu Pandit and Ganga Paudel (Baral), while Inclusive Vice President candidates include Umid Prasad Bagchand, Mohan Kumar Singh, and Subhas Prasad Sah.
Four candidates—Ram Prasad Dahal, Prakash Thapa, Lekhnath Neupane, and Janmadev Jaisi—are vying for the position of General Secretary.
Similarly, seven nominations have been filed for Open Secretary, three for Women Secretary, three for Indigenous Secretary, three for Madhesi Secretary, four for Dalit Secretary, three for Associate Secretary, and three for Treasurer, informed Election Committee Coordinator Chiranjivi Khanal.
As per the revised election schedule released by the committee, objections or claims regarding the candidates can be submitted until Saturday at 11 AM.
The FNJ election is scheduled to take place on Mangsir 28. #fnj
