Kathmandu, Aug 27: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the country has no other alternative to heading to the new journey of prosperity and good-governance along with stability.
Inaugurating the liaison office of the province chiefs and chief ministers in Lalitpur on Sunday, the PM announced to lead the country to the path of prosperity and good-governance by forging national consensus.
The building developed at Bhainsepati in Lalitpur will have the liaison offices and residence to the province chiefs and chief ministers from all seven provinces.
“In the capacity of the executive head of the country, I have made efforts to move ahead on the basis of national consensus and understanding,” PM Prachanda shared.
Likewise, the PM said that the newly-developed building would also help make the provinces more effective and institutionalize federal democratic republic system.
On the occasion, the PM expressed the confidence that the province and local level governments could play active role in meeting the national goal of good-governance, social justice and prosperity.
Also speaking at the event, Urban Development Minister Sita Gurung suggested that the province governments should work proactively to ensure prompt, easy and accessible service to the citizens through coordination and cooperation. She shared that the Ministry is working to make new cities as the smart cities adding that attention has been paid for timely completion of the under-construction projects.
The project was completed in four years with the investment of Rs 850 million. During the event, PM Prachanda handed over the bunch of keys to the province chiefs and chief ministers and also visited some buildings.
Province chiefs and chief ministers from all seven provinces, Chief Secretary Dr Baikuntha Aryal, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiri Babu Maharjan and others were also present on the occasion.
