Kathmandu, Dec 20: Nobel laureate Japanese physicist Professor Takaaki Kajita will attend the 51st convocation ceremony of Tribhuvan University (TU) as the chief guest.
TU officials confirmed that Professor Kajita will be present at the convocation ceremony scheduled to take place at Dasharath Stadium on December 25. Professor Kajita was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2015.
TU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Dipak Aryal stated that the participation of a Nobel laureate would enhance the university’s prestige at the international level.
More than 16,300 graduating students, along with their parents and guardians, are expected to attend the convocation ceremony. Prime Minister and TU Chancellor Sushila Karki, Minister for Education and TU Pro-Chancellor Mahabir Pun, and 52 members of the TU Senate are also scheduled to be present at the event. #nepal #TU
