NPL 2025: Sudurpaschim and Lumbini vie for the title on Saturday



Kathmandu, Dec 12: The final match of the ongoing second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket has been scheduled for Saturday, December 13.

Defending runners-up Sudurpaschim Royals and Lumbini Lions will compete for the championship at 3:30 pm at the TU International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur.

Sudurpaschim advanced to the final after defeating Biratnagar by 77 runs in the first Qualifier. Lumbini secured the remaining spot by overcoming Biratnagar with a 40-run victory in the second Qualifier. Biratnagar had earned a second chance to qualify following its loss to Sudurpaschim in the first Qualifier.

In the previous edition of the NPL, Sudurpaschim had fallen short of the title, losing to Janakpur Bolts by five wickets in the final. Lumbini, meanwhile, had exited the league stage in that tournament.

The NPL champions will receive a prize of Rs 11 million, while the runners-up will take home Rs 5.1 million. The third-place team will be awarded Rs 2.5 million, and the fourth-place finisher will receive Rs 1.5 million.

A total of eight teams participated in this year’s NPL, which is organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal. The second edition of the franchise league commenced on November 17, 2025. #nepal #npl #cricket
