Kathmandu, Sept 4: Nepali Taekwondo player Ms Palesha Govardhan, who won a medal in the Paralympics, was welcomed with a city tour of Kathmandu.
The Nepali team, along with her, was given a tour of the city starting from the VIP room of Tribhuvan International Airport.
Minister of Sports Teju Lal Chaudhary, Member Secretary at National Sports Council, Officials at Nepal Olympic Committee, among others, welcomed Ms Palesha at the airport.
A large crowed gathered at the airport as well.
The tour passed through Airport, Gaushala, Old Baneshwar, Maitidevi, Dillibazar, Baghbazar, Bhadrakali, Shaheedgate, Tripureshwar Chowk, and reached the premises of the National Sports Council.
Palesha competed in the women’s under 57 kg category in the K44 at the Paralympics held in Paris and won a bronze medal. This is the first medal won by Nepalese athletes in the Olympics. #palesha #paralympics
