Palpa, Nov 14: Just hearing the name Palpa makes anyone imagine a beautiful place to visit. It is rich not only in natural beauty but also in culture, making it an important tourist destination.

Located in western Nepal, Palpa is the district where the city of Tansen has been famous since before the unification of Nepal. As it was the capital of the Sen kings before 250 years back, this city was socially, economically, and educationally prosperous from that very time, and it served as a center for economic and educational activities in the region.

Palpa is also a convergence of historical significance, geographical uniqueness, and religiously important sites.

Situated on the upper part of the Mahabharat hill range, Palpa offers views of the lower hilly terrain to the north, as well as the Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. To the south, one can see fields filled with crops. With its ethnic diversity, Palpa is a district rich in religious and cultural heritage.

Likewise, Palpa has Srinagar Hill, Rani Mahal (Taj Mahal of Nepal), Siddha Baba Temple, among others. In Nepal, Palpa is also famous for Dhaka fabric, handicrafts and coffee farms.
