Kathmandu, June 14: The Federal Parliamentary Hearing Committee has advanced the parliamentary hearing process for three proposed Justices of the Supreme Court and a member of the Judicial Council.
A meeting of the Committee held Saturday has initiated steps for parliamentary hearing for proposed Justices of Supreme Court Senior Advocate Meghraj Pokhrel, Chief Judge of High Court Janakpur Shreekant Paudel and Chief Judge of High Court Dipayal Shanti Singh Thapa, and proposed member of the Judicial Council, Mahesh Kumar Nepal.
Committee Chairperson Ishwari Neupane said that the meeting decided to issue a public notice seeking any complaint or grievance within 10 days concerning the proposed SC Justices and Judicial Council member.
According to Neupane, such complaints could be send directly to the Committee Secretariat or via email. The Judicial Council had recommended the names of Pokhrel, Paudel and Thapa last week for the post of Supreme Court Justice.
