Passenger bus, truck collide in Simaltal of Chitwan



Chitwan, Sep 1: An Indian bus and an Eicher truck collided at Simaltal on the Muglin-Narayangadh road section of Chitwan on Sunday morning at 6.30 am.

According to local police, the truck (Ga 2 Kha 1108) was heading from Mugling to Narayangadh while the bus (AR 01 T 6372) was from opposite direction.

The truck driver and 2 occupants of the truck were injured in the accident.

It is said that both the vehicles sustained minor damage due to the accident. Among the injured in the accident, 28-year-old Rajan Kshatri, a truck driver from Dhading Benighat, was injured in his right hand. It is said that 30-year-old Manj Rawal Barai of Bara, who was riding in the truck, was injured in the groin, while Ashish Chaurasia of the same place suffered internal injuries in his stomach.

Recently, two buses were swept away into the Trishuli river in the Simaltal area. Rescuers have not recovered the bus and many passengers have been missing.
