‘Pay heed to teachers’ agitation’



Kathmandu, April 23: Lawmakers have urged the government to pay attention to the teachers’ agitation.

During the 275th meeting of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee of the National Assembly on Wednesday, the lawmakers drew the government’s attention that it immediately addressed the teachers’ demands. They expressed worry why the government did not take teachers’ agitation seriously.

National Assembly member Goma Devi Timalsena said the school teachers’ agitation waged for long had badly hampered the students’ right to education. So, the government must be serious towards it, she stressed.

Student enrollment is stalled owing to teachers’ protest. Government should also be suggested how the problems could be resolved,” he opined.Another member of the National Assembly, Sumitra BC, said the effectiveness of policy and programmes of provinces was imperative.

Committee Chairperson Maya Prasad Sharma made commitment that serious discussion would be held on the issues surfaced during the meeting.#nepal #teacher #rss
