PM Dahal calls for unity to fulfill the martyrs’ dreams



Kathmandu, Jan 30: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the new government formed amidst challenging circumstances is determined to work to realize the aspiration for social justice, good governance and prosperity.

In a message on the occasion of Martyr’s Day here today, he has also expressed his commitment to dedicate his entire life for the cause of the country and its people. “I sincerely appeal to all to follow the path shown by the martyrs, not only in words, but also in deeds, resolving to utilize their sacrifices for development and prosperity of the nation”, he has said in the message.

Prime Minister Dahal has also believed that the dream and contribution of martyrs will always remain an inspiration to institutionalize the federal democratic republic and make the country prosperous and developed through the implementation of the new constitution. He has also called on everyone to join hands to fulfill the dreams of martyrs for the better future of the country and the people.

“Today is a day to pay special respect to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the self-respect and freedom of Nepal and Nepali people,” he said in the message and extended tributes to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives in various movements in favour of change, while expressed high respect to all the missing warriors. He has wished the warriors who were injured during the movements a speedy recovery and long life.

PM Dahal offers tribute to martyrs

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today reached Shahid Memorial at Lainchaur in Kathmandu and laid a wreath there on the occasion of the Martyrs’ Day.

On the occasion, the PM stated that the federal democratic republic was possible due to martyrs’ life sacrifice. He is scheduled to inaugurate the Martyrs’ Park at Jagdol in Gokarna today itself.

The Day is being observed with various programmes across the country today. On the occasion, a morning procession was organised that started from Shanti Battika and concluded at Lainchaur.

Likewise, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that the main credit for establishment of democracy, federal democratic republic and other achievements goes to the martyrs. He has also expressed his high appreciation for the contribution of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the establishment of democracy, federal democratic republic and high respect for the martyrs’ families.

In a message on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day-2079 here today, the Vice President has paid tributes to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the movement against the autocratic Rana regime and the subsequent major political revolutions and struggles.

“After a long political struggle of the Nepali people, a proportional and inclusive governance system with republic, federalism, secularism and social justice has been established. These achievements obtained from the sacrifices of the great people have been institutionalized through the constitution”, he said in the message.
