Lhasa (Tibet), Sept 29 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is currently on an official visit to China since September 23, is leaving for Chengdu from Mansarovar in China’s Tibet this morning.
PM Prachanda is scheduled to take a flight from Ngari Gunsa Airport at Mansarovar to Lhasa Airport at 9:45 am local time and then will fly to Chengdu from Lhasa.
The PM would reach there at Chengdu at 14:30 local time this afternoon. In Chengdu, the PM is scheduled to visit the Panda Breeding Centre.
This evening, the PM would meet the Secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC), Sichuan Province Committee, Wang Xiaohui.
The PM is scheduled to attend a dinner reception to be organized by Secretary Wang in honour of PM Dahal this evening.
The PM had arrived in Lhasa from Chongqing city on Wednesday and visited Mt Kailash and Mansarovar Lake on Thursday.
PM Prachanda held bilateral meetings with different leaders in Lhasa and also visited Potala Palace and other sites in Lhasa. The PM is scheduled to return home from Chengdu on Saturday.
PM Dahal vows to make travel arrangements to Kailash Mansarovar via Humla
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’has said that accessible arrangements will be made to visit popular Hindu shrines Mt Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in China via Humla district of Nepal. PM Prachanda visited Mt Kailash and Manasarovar Lake on Thursday.
Talking briefly to media persons after his visit to the sites, the Prime Minister said that provisions would be made for the pilgrims to visit Mt Kailash and Manasarovar Lake through the Nepali route.
According to the PM, agreement has been made with the Chinese government in principle for the purpose of allowing travel of visitors and pilgrims including Nepali, Indian and other countries’ tourists through Humla to Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar.
The Mansarovar Lake lies some 250 kilomeres away from Ngri of Tibet Autonomous Region of China and it is just 160 kms away from Humla district’s headquarters in Simkot.
However, the bumpy road from Simkot to the Mansarovar Lake has added to difficulties to the travelers though the route is good for Nepali and Indian visitors for many reasons including the travel costs, distance, time, visa and others.
The Mt Kailash and Mansarovar Lake are the holy shrines for the Hindus.
