PM KP Sharma Oli, Russian President Vladimir Putin to strengthen relations



Russian President Mr Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Nepal Mr KP Sharma Oli meet at Tianjin, China on September 1, 2025.

Tianjin, China, Sept 1, 2025: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held historic talks with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Plus Summit in Tianjin, China today.

During the meeting, President Putin welcomed the Prime Minister Oli, and said, “Dear Mr. Prime Minister! I am very glad to see you and be able to talk to you, exchange views on current issues, and on bilateral issues on the sidelines of the SCO summit.”

“I think, In 1956, we established diplomatic relations between our countries. And next year we will have a 70-year jubilee. Already today we can sum up some results of our interaction. I want to note that we never had any problems. In fact, for key the international agenda of our positions are either very close, or the same, as the diplomats say. You can think about how we expand and deepen cooperation in the most important areas.”

PM Oli also invited Russian President Putin to visit Nepal, Russian President Putin also invited Prime Minister Oli to visit Russia.

“Dear Mr. Prime Minister, I will use your idea, and we will think about the topic of visiting your country, Nepal. Well, we will always be glad to see you in Russia at any time, at any time convenient for you.”
