PM Oli urges students to utilize acquired knowledge honestly for the nation’s benefit
Addressing the 20th convocation ceremony, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized that Nepal, being a country of knowledge, philosophy, yoga, and research, requires its graduates to work honestly for the welfare of the nation. Prime Minister Oli is the Chancellor of the university as well.
He highlighted the importance of using the knowledge gained with confidence and integrity for the betterment of society.
“Positive success can only be achieved through honesty. Success gained through dishonesty is not beneficial for society. Even if you have received a good education, it cannot be considered true success if you use that knowledge for negative purposes such as crime, theft, or fraud,” said PM Oli. “You must strive to be useful to society and the nation. Acting solely for personal gain makes you selfish. Do something for your country and society and take pride in being responsible citizens.”
He urged the students not to feel inferior due to Nepal being a small nation, reiterating that a country’s sovereignty is not measured by its size.
“You cannot become a mahout by running away at the sight of an elephant. Instead, try to become one by training the elephant. Be courageous, but not reckless,” Prime Minister Oli remarked. “We have fertile land that can be transformed through development. Universities should engage in this transformative process, and the government will support them.”
During the ceremony, Chancellor Oli conferred degrees to 7,872 students from various faculties and levels of the university. Additionally, he awarded the Chancellor’s Medal to the best-performing students. #Pokhara #university #NEPAL
