Kathmandu, Nov 13: Nepal Police has taken into custody Nawaraj Aryal from Gorkha for spreading misinformation regarding the rape and murder case of 13-year-old Nirmala Panta from Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur.
Aryal reportedly shared false details during a television interview, which led the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police to question him on Tuesday, after which he was released on an attendance bond.
According to CIB spokesperson Superintendent Hobindra Bogati, Aryal’s statements in the interview were entirely false. To further investigate, the CIB has summoned both Aryal and his spouse, as well as the host of the Prime Time Television Rhishi Dhamala, for questioning.
Aryal, who claims to be a driver for the Department of Water Supply, falsely stated in the interview that he witnessed Nirmala’s rape while he was in Kanchanpur. The police assert that these claims are untrue, and the investigation is ongoing. #crime #nirmala #dhamala
