PM urges private sector to bring concrete proposal for resuming sick industries



Kathmandu, Feb 11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the private sector to come up with a concrete proposal on re-operating the sick industries on a partnership modality.

At a meeting of the Commerce-Industry Promotion Dialogue Council held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, he urged the private sector to promptly come up with a concrete proposal expressing government’s readiness to go for the partnership modality with the private sector.

Expressing the commitment to formulate and amend the concerned laws to enable environment towards that end, PM Oli said the government was ready to support the private sector for economic prosperity. Saying that he has directed the concerned agencies to take stern action against those found indulging in irregularities in customs and revenue, he stressed the need of developing the country to acquire wealth as development is not possible only through capital.

The council members suggested co-investment and collaboration in public-private partnership, increasing the use of indigenous goods in public bodies, reducing trade deficit, implementation of ordinances, construction business and early completion of projects.

The meeting participants were apprised about the government’s efforts for economic and administrative reforms, amendments made to 29 laws through ordinances and their positive effects, progress in development works, initiatives taken for start-ups and trade facilitation.#nepal #political #rss
