
Kathmandu, March 3: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that political parties should internalize democratic values, norms and ideals in any difficult situation.
Launching a book ‘KP Sharma Oli: Dreams, Struggles and Resolutions’ here Monday, she said that the CPN (UML) has given high priority to pluralism and multi-party competition, while reaching to the leadership of the government through political superiority and for socio-economic transformation.
She described her former party, the UML as a party which is people-based, disciplined and with dedicated cadres and members, and with experienced, restrained and determined leadership, and a fundamental principle to achieve prosperity. “UML Chair and Prime Minister Oli is here to bring about political, social and economic change in the country,” she said.
The former President also appreciated the role played by leader Oli in making the UML democratic, the communist movement unified, and strengthening the party by defeating the factions and divisions.
Former President Bhandari expressed her belief that this book would contribute to further highlighting the great dreams that Prime Minister Oli had in the context of advancing his life and political journey, the tireless struggle he has undertaken, and the determination he has to bring prosperity to the country and people.
UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, former Minister Nilambar Acharya, Senior cardiologist Dr Bhagwan Koirala, artist Prakash Saput, senior journalist Kanakmani Dixit, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Dhakal among others shed light on Prime Minister Oli’s personality and accomplishments.
Journalist Ganesh Pandey, the author of the book, said that the book was written with a focus on the perception of people from different walks of life society towards Prime Minister Oli and the journey of development and prosperity achieved by the country under his leadership.#nepal #political #rss
