Prachanda again threatened to launch another revolution

Kathmandu, August 3: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the country is in need of another revolution and a new form of rebellion.

Speaking at a program at the party’s central office in Parisdanda on Sunday, Prachanda accused reactionary forces of ongoing conspiracies and emphasized the need for unity to resist them.

Reflecting on his political journey—from the ‘People’s War’ to the peace process, the Constituent Assembly, and the present—Prachanda stated that he is prepared to wage another revolution.

“I have walked this path with the conviction that the reactionaries must be defeated—through the preparation for the People’s War, the war itself, the peace agreement, the Constituent Assembly, and beyond. I have survived, I have led before, and I am ready to lead a new kind of rebellion. This is my commitment.”

Prachanda also asserted that while progress has been made in completing the remaining tasks of the peace process, certain elements are still attempting to obstruct it.

“We are regrouping and strengthening. We have attempted to resist the conspiracies of the reactionary forces through unity. Now, we are again consolidating to build class unity,” he said, with visible emotion. The agenda has moved forward, but manipulations are still happening. We must remain vigilant,” he warned. “If we fail to unite, serious challenges may arise. That is why I urge everyone to come together.”

The former Prime Minister further stated that there is no valid reason for the People’s War not to be recognized as a national day. “This is not an issue for the courts. It should be acknowledged and celebrated as a national day,” he said.

However, this was not the first time he has vowed to launch new rebellion and revolution in the country. In recent days, the pro-monarchist groups have been emerging and demanding to restore the monarchy. #prachanda #nepal #revolution #rebellion
