BHOJPUR, Nov 30: A woman who was seriously ill due to excessive bleeding after giving birth at a birthing center has been rescued from a helicopter. Pavitra Shrestha, 32, of Siddheshwar in Bhojpur Municipality-4, who gave birth to a baby last night, was rescued this afternoon.

Shrestha was rescued under the Presidential Women’s Upliftment Program by ordering a helicopter from Kathmandu after she had difficulty in being transported by ambulance to other well-equipped places.

Chief District Officer of Bhojpur, Basanta Raj Puri, informed that she was sent to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) for further treatment.
