Preliminary discussion begins on MCC at task force meeting

KATHMANDU: A first meeting of the task force formed by the ruling collation to reach to a conclusion on the United States support project, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), held here on Wednesday.

Preliminary discussion has begun on MCC compact at a meeting held today at CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhalanath Khanal’s house in Dallu, Kathmandu.

The preliminary discussion has advanced positively, shared task force member and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

The parties of ruling coalition had formed a three-member task force to discuss with other political parties and reach to a conclusion on MCC.

The task force comprises leader Khanal, CPN (Maoist Center) leader NarayanKaji Shrestha and Minister Karki.

The task force has been mandated to hold necessary discussions with other political parties on the issues ranging from resuming the parliamentary procedure to advancing several agendas under-consideration at the parliament.
