Hetauda, Feb 21: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Hetauda Hospital at Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati Province, on Tuesday. The building is under the Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences (MBAHS).
The building with a capacity of 70 beds has been constructed at a cost of Rs 430 million. Health services have started from the new building from today itself. Hetauda Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in the country.
With the inauguration of the new building, the total capacity of the Hospital has reached 200 including the old in-patient building. It has 387 staffs including 38 specialist doctors, 50 medical officers and health workers and employees. The Hospital provides round-the-clock CT Scan, ICU and pathology services.
MRI and NICU facilities are also available while preparation is being made to add PICU service, MBAHS Registrar Rajesh Prasain said. Prasai is also the Chair of Hetauda Hospital Operation and Management Committee.
He said that with the operation of the new building Hetauda Hospital will provide quality health services by adding more services and human resources. At present, 750 persons are receiving out-patient services from the Hospital on a daily basis.
