President Bhandari leaves for state visit to Myanmar

            Kathmandu, Oct 16 :  President Bidya Devi Bhandari left here today for a five-day state visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the friendly invitation of her Burmese counterpart U Win Myint. The visit begins today and will last till October 20.

            The Head-of-the-State is accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, and secretaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of President.

            Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwor Pokhrel, Nepal Communist Party parliamentary party deputy-leader Subash Nembang and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa were at the VVIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport to see off the President.

            Ministers, heads of constitutional bodies, government high-ranking officials and representatives from diplomatic missions in Kathmandu were also present on the occasion. 

            A contingent of Nepali Army presented a guard of honour to the President.
