President Bhandari leaving for Myanmar on Wednesday

Kathmandu, Oct 15 : President Bidya Devi Bhandari is embarking on a five-day state visit to Myanmar from October 16-20 at the invitation of her counterpart Win Myint.

During the visit, President Bhandari will hold bilateral talks with Myanmar’s President Myint, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.

On the occasion, Myanmar’s State Councilor Aang San Suu Kyi will also call on President Bhandari.

As per the schedule, Myanmar’s President Myint is hosting a state banquet in honour of President Bhandari and her delegation.

President Bhandari is also scheduled to meet with Nepali origin people and  at Pin O leane as well as visit the UNESCO’s world heritage site and Rangoon. The President will also visit the places with historical and cultural importance in Rangoon.

The President’s entourage comprises Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, secretaries of the offices of President and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, high-placed officials of foreign ministry and media persons, reads a release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
