KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari attended the Basanta Shrawan ritual on the occasion of Basanta Panchami at Nasal Chowk in Hanumandhoka durbar premises today morning.
The Basanta Shrawan ritual took place at the auspicious hour of 10.30 am. On the occasion, President Bhandari also received tika, garland and prasad from the main priest of Hanumandhoka Durbar.
Marking the function, a contingent of the Nepal Army presented a guard of honour while also playing the Mangal Dhun and Panche Baja.
Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chief Justice Cholendra Sumsher Rana, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and Chairman of National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timalsina also attended the Basanta Shrawan ritual and received tika, garland and Prasad on the occasion.
On the occasion senior government officials, among others, were also present.
