President Deuba urges govt to rescue, repatriate Nepalis from Israel

Kathmandu, Oct 9: The Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government to rescue and repatriate the Nepalis suffering in Israel in the wake of Hamas’ attack.

President Deuba condemned the attacks by Hamas in different parts of Israel and added that his attention was drawn towards taking hostage of some Nepalis and injuring some others in the attack. Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the former Prime Minister demanded the government that it became active to immediately rescue and return the Nepalis who are desperately waiting for the safety of their lives.

The government is also urged to identify the number of Nepalis living in Israel and relocate them to safer places. NC President Deuba requested the friendly countries, international human rights organizations, International Organization of Migration, and International Red Cross Committee for their assistance to this end.

He also urged the Nepalis living in insecurity to contact at Nepali Embassy in Israel and the Nepali contact committee.
