President Paudel insists on sustainable conservation of Chure region

Kathmandu, Dec 1: President Ram Chandra Paudel has instructed the President Chure-Tarai Madhesh Conservation Development Committee, Nepal, to act towards finding a sustainable way for the conservation of Chure region.

During a meeting with Committee office-bearers at the Office of the President, Shital Niwas on Friday, the President insisted on taking necessary actions to address persistent challenges facing the Chure conservation.

Expressing his concerns over the potential crisis due to the Chure degradation, the Head of the State was of the view that the existing measures for its conservation were meagre to find a long-term achievement, according to President’s press advisor Kiran Pokhrel.

He spoke the need of preventing landslides, managing river scour, promoting greenery campaign and improving settlement in course of the Chure preservation efforts. He said the State should act towards that end by implementing a wider plan.

The committee officials apprised the President of the Committee’s ongoing efforts to preserve the Chure region.
