Kathmandu, Feb 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal have discussed the contemporary political topics. The two leaders held a meeting in Singha Durbar today and discussed the consultations among the parties on the selection of the candidate in the context of the election of President.
In his brief response to journalists after the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal said discussions are in progress among the political parties and the candidate to the post of President would be finalized until February 25. “Discussions are on at present. It is not finalized now,” he said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayan Kaji Shrestha was also present in the meeting.
According to sources, Prime Minister Dahal will be holding a crucial meeting with Nepali Congress, Janata Samajbadi Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, among others to finalize the name of the future candidate. Many believe that, in such circumstance, the present ruling coalition will break away. The CPN UML has repeatedly argued that CPN Maoist Centre had assured UML that it will support to the UML candidate. RSS
