Kathmandu, April 1: Loan shark victims met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Saturday morning.
Prime Minister Dahal’s Press Coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma informed that the meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar in the morning. During the meeting, the victims requested Prime Minister Dahal to be freed from the shackles of loan sharking.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal assured that the government was serious about solving the problem, according to his secretariat.
A few days ago, after walking from Terai for 11 days, the victims of loan sharking arrived in Kathmandu, saying that they will not return until they get justice.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has already held three rounds of talks with them. The Ministry of Home Affairs has addressed some of their demands, including the need to form a competent commission.
On Friday, the Deputy Prime Minister and the newly appointed Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, after assuming office, informed that he had made the first decision to form a commission empowered to solve the problems of loan shark victims and would take a proposal to the next cabinet.
