Prime Minister flies by Himalaya to Tianjin



Kathmandu, Aug 30: Celebrating a decade of excellence in aviation this year, Himalaya Airlines proudly operated a special diplomatic flight for the official visit of the Prime Minister, Mr. K.P. Sharma Oli, to Tianjin, The People’s Republic of China, on August 30, 2025.

The  Prime Minister was accompanied by Madam Radhika Shakya, and a high-level delegation including Hon. Mr. Raghuji Pant – Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey – Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada – Economic and Development Advisor to the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister, Members of Parliament along with select senior government officials from various Ministries. The delegation is scheduled to return to Nepal from Beijing on September 03, 2025, aboard Himalaya’s Airbus 320-214.

President of Himalaya Airlines, Mr. Zhou Enyong, was on board to welcome The Right Hon’ Prime Minister, Madam Shakya, and the distinguished delegates. Vice President – Administration, Mr. Vijay Shrestha who was also present at Tribhuvan International Airport to bid farewell to the Prime Ministerial entourage, expressed, “It is indeed a great honor for Himalaya Airlines to operate a special flight for the official visit of the Head of Government. We express our special gratitude for the goodwill, patronage, and support received from the honorable Prime Minister on the occasion of completing a decade of providing international air services. Himalaya Airlines will continue to uphold this trust to serve the nation with commitment in the years ahead.”

The Airbus 319 -115, 9N-AJK departed from Tribhuvan International Airport at 07:23 hours (NST) and landed safely at Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 15:15 hours (local time).

On December 28, 2023, H9 became the first and the only airline in Nepal to be certified as an IOSA Operator and registered as an IATA member airline.

Starting September 2021, H9 introduced Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), a life-saving device onboard all its fleet. With this, H9 stands to be the first ever and the only Nepalese airlines to carry AEDs onboard.
