KATHMANDU: The ban imposed in the Kathmandu Valley has been extended further one week. The Covid-19 infection rate in the Kathmandu valley remain static even after the previous restrictions.
A joint meeting of the three Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur district on Tuesday decided to impose a strict ban for another week.
The added ban will allow vegetable, fruit, milk, meat and gas shops to be open till 9 am. However, it has been decided to close the grocery and big stores.
According to sources, the operation of vehicles of government offices, banks, public institutions and internet service providers have also been tightened. “These vehicles will now be allowed to run only from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and from 5 pm to 6 pm.”
The administration has also decided to suspend the construction work for a week. It is said that only 7 people can get permisson to attend in a marriage ceremony. According to reports, all the passes issued by the administration and other bodies so far have been canceled.
The three administration offices in the Kathmandu Valley had imposed the ban for the first time from April 29 to May 5 saying that the second wave of coronavirus infection had increased. After that, another prohibition order was issued from May 5 to 12 and May 12 to May 27.
Those who do not comply with the ban will now be punished. It has also been decided to take action against the violators as per the recently issued Covid-19 ordinance.
