Kathmandu, Oct 24 : The government has announced a public holiday on the occasion of Kijapuja on October 30.
The Cabinet meeting on October 22 took the decision to this effect.
The Newar community was demanding for the public holiday for a long time. Two days before, a group of Newari leaders also met with the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and requested to announce public holiday.
