KATHMANDU: It has been decided to allow vehicles with more than 25 seats to operate in the Kathmandu Valley with odd-even basis.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Kali Prasad Parajuli, said that it has been decided to allow the vehicles to run according to the seating capacity by following the public health standards.
The order issued by the Kathmandu Administration has stated, “Public passenger vehicles with a capacity of more than 25 seats will be allowed in the Kathmandu Valley. All the public vehicle operators and passengers, including driver and co-driver must wear a mask, sanitizer must be provided at the door of the vehicle, co-driver must wear gloves and the vehicle must be disinfected daily from 6:00 am to 7.00 pm.”
He said that a decision has been taken to allow daily consumer goods and food shops to operate from morning till 6 pm. Similarly, it has been decided to allow other shops to operate from 11 am to 6 pm.
Public transport has been closed since April 28. With the latest decision, vehicles with a capacity of more than 25 seats will be allowed to operate in the Kathmandu Valley from Tuesday by adopting health standards. The ban on small vehicles such as micro and tempos remains in place.
The private vehicles have been allowed to operate as a odd-even basis.
